12 Steps to Increasing Personal Growth and Development

You will learn about the structure of and discuss your hopes for the Program.  Program materials will be reviewed, as well as your role and that of the Certified Dream Manager. You, with guidance from the Dream Manager, start writing a list of your dreams.

With more thought and guidance, short-term, medium-term, and long-term dreams are prioritized.  Tools taught to assist prioritizing dreams may also be beneficial in other areas of your life.  Specific and measureable action plans to achieve five to ten of your target dreams are created.

Because many dreams have a financial component, and because many people have more financial woes than we realize, a review of your feelings toward money, personal financial habits, and a diagnostic look at your financial reality is discussed.  Instruction will be provided on how to create or refine a personal budget.  Another goal of this step is to help you identify ways to dedicate/save money for your own dreams.

Many of your dreams will be financial in nature and may be larger ticket items.   What it would take to secure financial freedom is discussed, challenging you to consider what things cost from both a dollar and time perspective.  As part of your take-home work from this session, you will calculate your personal net worth, which can be used for future comparison.

Using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as a discussion tool, you will identify your personality type and explore how it impacts your work, relationships, and energy.  You will be encouraged to look for when, how, and why attributes of your personality emerge and identify strategies to play to your own strengths and work on overall improvement.

You will look at how you spend your time and how you manage your energy.  By completing a 24-hour time inventory, you will gain clarity and look for activities to eliminate, reduce or replace.  In addition, reviewing how activities increase or decrease your energy level will be discussed.

An exploration of diet, sleep, and exercise habits helps you identify ways in which you can become the best-version-of-yourself.  You will be encouraged to identify at least one new habit to help you grow in physical mastery.

Emotional Mastery means developing, nurturing, and managing the relationships in your life.  You will evaluate your connections with others.  This step assists you in viewing your relationships differently and improving them.

While many people do not feel they are intellectual, this step affirms that each of us does have an intellectual component.  You will help yourself to become a life-long learner.

Explore how you can nurture and grow in spirituality – ways you can better understand who you are, what your connection to the larger world is, and how spiritual disciplines can help create more self-awareness and, ultimately, freedom.  For some, religion is shared as a way to explore spirituality; for others, faith-based approaches are not discussed.

Discover and identify ways to actively pursue professional dreams of your past, present, and future.  You will look for ways to grow professionally.
